For example, split serial number 2515C67890 as 25 | 15 | C | 67890. The code 25 means production week 25, 15 means 2015, C identifies the manufacturing plant, and 67890 identifies the individual unit. The plant letter and unit sequence do not influence the manufacture date. Appliage uses this format for dates from 1985 onward. The Bryant serial number alone is enough to return the production week and an estimated age, so you don’t need to enter the model number.

Bryant Serial Number Lookup
- 1–2 production week
- 3–4 two digit year
- 5 manufacturing plant
- 6 onward unit sequence
The plant letter identifies the factory that made the equipment, but it does not provide the week or year. The remaining characters distinguish one unit from another. They identify the individual machine but do not influence its manufacture date.
Bryant Year Codes in Positions 3–4
| Year code | Manufacture year | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 85–99 | 1985–1999 | 95 means 1995 |
| 00–26 | 2000–2026 | 15 means 2015; 19 means 2019 |
| 27–84 | No current result | The 1900s year is before 1985, the earliest verified year, while the 2000s year is still in the future |
Bryant Production Week Codes in Positions 1–2
| Week code | Production week | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 01–09 | Weeks 1–9 | 09 means week 9 |
| 10–53 | Weeks 10–53 | 25 means week 25 |
| 00 or 54–99 | Invalid week | These values cannot be production weeks |
The Bryant serial number gives a production week rather than an exact day. Appliage uses that week and year to estimate the age of the equipment.
Bryant Serial Numbers Appliage Cannot Find the Age
A serial number must begin with four digits that form a valid production week and year. A week code of 00 or above 53 does not match this format. Serial numbers that begin with letters or use an older Bryant structure also need a different date coding method.
Appliage applies this Bryant format only to dates from 1985 onward. Real rating plates verify the numeric style back to 1985, and nothing from 1980 through 1984 has passed verification, so those years get no date. Entering the model number does not provide a missing week or year.
The manufacture date can be earlier than the installation date or warranty start date. Use the installation invoice or Bryant warranty record when you need one of those later dates.
Why Bryant Uses the Carrier Serial Format
Bryant is part of the Carrier family, and modern Bryant and Carrier HVAC equipment use the same week and year serial number structure. That is why the same rule for the first four digits applies to both brands.
The brand name on the rating plate still matters. It identifies the product line and helps match the equipment to the correct warranty record, service information, or safety notice. The Carrier serial number lookup explains the shared format on Carrier equipment.
